Do do do do, ta tam.

This post goes to the fabulous people we met at Ko Lanta, that's why it is written in english. Sorry to our mum's that doesn't read english that well.

Well. Bangkok was busy as Gerrie (one of the south-africans we met) would have said. Kanchanaburi was too quiet, and after a 21-hour busride we we're looking forward to some relaxing days at Ao Nang and Ko Lanta.

But, actually - we regretted our plans to go to Ko Lanta before we went there. We had heard that it was to quiet, not that many people on our age and definetly not a place to spend new year's eve.. But we had already booked our hotel there.

So, the first day at Lanta we tried to relax, but we we're not that satisfied with the island. But, then we met the south-africans, wonderful Paul and relaxed Gerrie. We went to a reaggae-bar, like every other bar in Lanta. The bartender gave us some delicious bbq-fish and chicken. And we had a cool night jamming with the Thai-band that were playing at the bar we had gone to.

Another night, we met Jana, a cool and interesting german girl and had a good and long talk with her. Unfortunately, she went to Kuala Lumpur the next day. But we had a nice breakfast with her.

We didn't actually do much during the day, other than staying at the beautiful beach. But, we we're not yet satisfied with staying at Lanta on new years eve.

But we had fun playing pool with Like and a swedish guy called Janne. The next day, we met Herwig- an austrian energetic guy, at the beach. We had a great lunch with cardgames. This night one of the bartenders at our hotel threw a cool party with live reaggaemusic at the beach (dancing to this song). Until then, the best night so far. Some of us even got to see the stars went away, and the sunrise. It was awesome.

The next day was new years eve, and nobody of us was that into partying. But in a couple of hours with Gerrie, Paul and Herwig. And of course some of the weird, but cool people we met at "What else"-bar at the reaggae-night, we had one of the best new years eve-party ever.

Mathilde and I tried to lit a lantern for good luck for the next year. But it went straight into the sea the first time. We got some help from the guys and tried another one, and it went straight up!

So, this is especially to Herwig, Gerrie and Paul for giving us a great new years eve, although we didn't think it would be good. And for giving us another try with luck. It was the best night so far on our holiday, and it will probably stay so!
